Video Verification

Record One Short Video. Get Verified.

Google just wants to see that your business is real. You'll film a single short video on your phone showing your work, your gear and your location. Follow these steps in order.

🎬

The whole thing is one video, filmed in one go, without stopping. Think of it like a quick walk-around tour of your business. It only needs to be 30 to 60 seconds long.

1

Open the message from Google

Google sends you an email or a notification that says it's time to verify.

Open it on your phone, not your computer. You need the phone camera in the next steps.

👆 Tap the button that says Get Verified

Choose "Video" and allow the camera

If Google asks how you want to verify, pick Video recording.

Your phone will ask for permission to use the camera and microphone. Tap Allow. Nothing records yet, this just lets the camera turn on.

Stop and send it to Google

Once you've shown all three things, tap the button again to stop.

Watch it back for a second to make sure it's clear, then tap Submit. That's it, the video goes straight to Google. You don't upload anything anywhere else.

✓ Do this

  • Film in one go, no stopping
  • Move slowly and hold steady
  • Good daylight or bright lighting
  • Show your name or licence clearly
  • Keep it 30 to 60 seconds

✕ Don't do this

  • Don't upload an old or edited video
  • Don't film in the dark
  • Don't rush or shake the phone
  • Don't hide your business name
  • Don't stop and start recording

You're done. Now you wait a little.

A real person at Google watches your video. It usually takes up to 5 business days. Google emails you when you're verified. Once that lands, your business is live on Google Maps and Search.
